Post-Conference Workshop:
Image Integrity – Best practices for preparing imagery for publications
This workshop is intended for Post-doc research fellows, research officers, and PhD students who use or intend to use imagery in their publications (micrographs, Western blots, etc). It covers the Do's and Don’ts of image manipulations, and shows how to maintain scientific integrity whilst avoiding inappropriate techniques that may lead to questionable outcomes.
This 1.5-day workshop will consist of a combined group lecture, where the theoretical aspects of image integrity will be covered, and with guidelines on images from journal publishers. This will be followed by a small group hands-on session, where all aspects of image processing, manipulations, analysis, responsibilities and forensic tools used to detect fraud, will be covered.
Participants are required to attend only one of the small group sessions. As this is a hands-on session, you are requested to bring your own laptop and your own images to this workshop.
